Grace Episcopal began the process to converting our Memorial Garden to native plants and nativars in 2024. We understand that using native plants is highly beneficial to the environment as they:

  • are adapted to local climate conditions, meaning they naturally require less water to thrive, reducing irrigation needs
  • have deep root systems which help stabilize soil and prevent erosion
  • provide food and shelter for local insects, birds, and other wildlife, helping to maintain a healthy ecosystem
  • generally require less maintenance compared to non-native plants due to their natural resilience

We hope you’ll take time in our Memorial Garden to breathe, reflect, pray, and observe the beauty of nature.
